Tasting Notes

Aromas of bright red and black fruit, sage & fresh turned earth. The palate is rich and plush, with bright acid, soft baking spices and long finish.

Kiona Winery is one of the original gangsters of Washington Wine. They were the first winery to establish vineyards in Red Mountain AVA. They are family owned and operated for three generations. The Red Mountain AVA is within the larger Columbia Valley AVA. Although Red Mountain is neither red, nor a mountain, it is one of the premier ACA's for producing Cabernet Sauvignon in all of Washington state. The Kiona Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are surrounded on all sides by sage brush and rolling hills with the herbal sage tones coming through in the wine as a mark of terroir.
