Tasting Notes

Aromas of red strawberry, scorched earth, and clay. The palate is fresh with ripe red cherry, strawberry, cranberry, and blood orange flavors, with a clean finish with soft tannins.

A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 25% Syrah For the past thirty years, the Guibert family and Mas de Daumas Gassac have stood at the forefront of the quality revolution in the Languedoc. This region is a hotspot for young wine producers who are eager to show the potential of its complex terroirs. And at the heart of this movement is the godfather of Languedoc’s greatest crus, Aimé Guibert. He and his wife purchased the land in 1971, and under the mentorship of famous Bordeaux enologist Emile Peynaud, they set about growing and bottling the Languedoc’s first great cult wine, in spite of their wines’ humble appellation of Vin de Pays de l’Hérault. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated with a nice gritty texture making this a gorgeous southern style claret suitable for drinking over the next 3-5 years.
