Tasting Notes

Aromas of apricot, red apple, and golden pear, with floral tones of honeysuckle and rose. The palate is fresh and lively with stony minerality, lime zest, asian pear, and exotic spices, with a long and textured finish.

One of the most exciting producers in Bulgaria is Edward Kourian. His small winery, Rossidi, maintains a philosophy can be described simply that wine needs to reflect the terroir it comes from, as well as the main features of the variety it is made of; it should not be a commercial product deliberately shaped by high-tech equipment to match the current fashionable tastes. The Rossidi wines, produced from our their vineyard, located near the village of Nikolaevo in the Thracian Valley of Bulgaria, which is fast gaining national acclaim in Bulgaria as one of the premium growing sites in the region. The soil under the Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay grapes is mainly clay, mixed with limestone. Both wines are fermented separately in stainless steel. In order to maintain maximum freshness the wine does not go through malolactic fermentation.
