Xavier Clua, "'El Sola d'en Pol'", Terra Alta, Catalonia

$17 .95
- 1 bottle +

Tasting Notes

Aromas of perfume, rose, violets, plum, and blueberry. The palate shows Juicy blueberry and huckleberry flavors, with a meaty and savory finish.

Xavier Clua farms 10 hectares separately from his family's other 15 around the village of Vilalba dels Arcs in Catalunya just south of Monsant. This is the heart of the up and coming Terra Alta region where there are some impressive wines being made these days. Located in Catalonia, Terra Alta is a land dominated by co-ops churning out volumes of wines of varying quality. This estate, though, only uses their own carefully cultivated vineyards. No oak at all on this wine.
